Silicon nitride lined composite pipe is a kind of high-end composite pipe that combines the excellent performance of silicon nitride ceramics with the metal matrix structure. It is mainly used in harsh working conditions such as high temperature, serious corrosion, and high pressure.
Silicon nitride, as the core material of the lining, has the characteristics of high hardness (superhard material), high temperature resistance (can withstand 1200℃ or above), corrosion resistance (resistant to acid, alkali and chemical erosion), low thermal expansion coefficient, etc., which can effectively isolate the medium from the outer bases.
Silicon nitride lined composite pipes are usually based on metal (such as steel) or high-performance plastics, lined with silicon nitride layers (the thickness can be customized according to requirements), and are tightly combined through special processes (such as reaction sintering, coating technology, etc.) to ensure structural stability and sealing.
Compared with traditional plastic-lined steel pipes (such as PVC and PE linings), the wear resistance and thermal shock resistance of silicon nitride linings are significantly enhanced, which helps extend the service life significantly.
ADVANTAGES OF SILICON NITRIDE:
Silicon nitride’s Rockwell hardness is HRA 92-94 (twice that of steel). It has a friction coefficient of 0.05-0.1 (about 1/3 of steel), and great wear resistance of 3-5 times that of ordinary metals.
Silicon nitride has resistance to a temperature range of -60°C-1400°C (short-term resistance to 1600°C).
Silicon nitride is highly resistant to the corrosion of strong acid (concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid), strong alkali (sodium hydroxide), and salt spray.
Silicon nitride is non-magnetic and electrically insulating (electric resistivity >10¹⁴Ω·cm).
