Aluminum silicate sprue cup is a funnel-shaped enlarged part on the top of sprue runners. Its function is to receive metal liquid from the pouring ladle, prevent splashing and overflow, and reduce the direct impact of molten metal to the casting mold. It also can remove some slag and impurities entering the sprue, and increase the hydrostatic pressure of the molten metal.
